Why do companies use FMEAs?
There are a number of reasons why companies use FMEAs. FMEAs are often initiated because of a specific problem or used as a proactive tool to reduce the potential for problems. MRG's FMEA Library is a direct result of our delivery of services in response to client problems and requirements. Is there an FMEA template available to solve our problem?
There are over 180 FMEA templates in the MRG library, which is a growing body of knowledge. Most commonly encountered equipment failures are addressed. As MRG completes new analyses, templates are added to the library.

What types of equipment are covered in your FMEA library?
Many different types of equipment are covered in the library including 80% of the most frequent class/subclass combinations.

Can an existing template be modified?
MRG's FMEA Templates are stand alone tools that integrate into Reliasoft's Xfmea software platform so you don't need to develop your own model or solution, yet they are fully customizable to enable you to analyze and report on the data.

Will the template assist in identifying all of the effects and causes of the failure mode?
MRG's FMEA Templates act as a guide when identifying, assessing, and addressing equipment failure modes. Each potential failure mode will have at least one, if not several potential effects or consequences of the failure, potential causes of the failure, and current controls to prevent the failure from occurring or to detect the failure once it does occur.

How often do you update the templates?
MRG's FMEA Template Library is a growing body of knowledge and is continually updated. MRG provides you with quarterly updates for a period of one year and as MRG completes new analyses, new templates are added to the library.

What is the term of the license agreement?
Perpetual usage licenses are issued to one location and are not transferable.

What is included with a license to the FMEA templates?
MRG will provide you with the FMEA Templates Library on CD/DVD or as a download from the MRG website. Additionally, you will receive quarterly FMEA Library updates including any new analyses that are completed.

Is there any support offered to assist us in their application to our failures?

Reliasoft Xfmea®
Do we need Reliasoft's Xfmea® software to read MRG's FMEA templates?
Reliasoft Xfmea® software is not absolutely necessary. However, ReliaSoft's Xfmea® Standard facilitates analysis, data management and reporting for failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and failure modes, effects and criticality analysis (FMECA). The software supports all major standards (AIAG FMEA-3, J1739, ARP5580, MIL-STD-1629A, etc.) and provides extensive customization capabilities for analysis and reporting, allowing you to configure the software to meet your organization's specific analysis and reporting procedures for all types of FMEA / FMECA.

Xfmea® Enterprise provides all of the FMEA / FMECA data management and reporting capabilities of Xfmea Standard and is designed around a centralized database on a network server that can be accessible by a large number of simultaneous users. The Enterprise edition also includes multiple additional tools.
